Industry Alliance Shines the Light on Retrofit Lighting Solutions
<August 27, 2008>The Home Lighting Control Alliance (HLCA) announced today that it has published a fact sheet online with detailed information on convenient and economical lighting control options particularly well suited for retrofit installation situations.
The HLCA noted that wired lighting solutions tend to be the preferred method in new home construction, but that many customers find hard wiring problematical in existing home installations. Yet the association notes that there are many available options for use in exactly this situation.
The fact sheet, titled “Lighting Control Options for Existing Homes,” is available free of charge at the association’s website at www.homelightingcontrol.org.
The fact sheet explains, in plain language, two primary options including power line carrier (PLC) and radio frequency (RF) systems and discusses comparative costs of various installation methods and technologies.
