Mitsubishi Plays Ball With The New York Yankees!
New Yankee Stadium to Get World's Largest HD Screen

<TOKYO/Nikkei - April 3, 2008>Mitsubishi announced today that they will provide what they say is the world's largest high definition screen for the new stadium being built by the New York Yankees, scheduled to open April 2009. While there will be several screens in the new ballpark, Mitsubishi will be providing the main center screen.

According to the company, the display will be a 1,400 inch unit and is expected to measure 30.72 meters wide and 17.92 meters high! This will give the Yankees the bragging rights to the largest screen in America as this is a full 5% larger than the previous unit that Mitsubishi build for the Turner Field in Atlanta for the Braves.

The giant display will use LEDs with a pitch of only 16mm...4 mm narrower than on other existing screens. It is said that images will be clear and detailed when either viewed close up or far away.

Mitsubishi is a worlwide provider of these jumbo screens and has outfitted four Major League ballparks in the U.S. as well as stadiums in Japan such as the Tokyo Dome.
