Use Google To Stay Alert!
Simple Tool Keeps You In The Know
Did you know that there is a free tool offered by Google that is easy to use and acts as your own little robot (or "bot" among the savvy) cruising the web and catching/collecting any references to anything you want to track? I use it every day to keep track of any articles appearing on the web about my company or my clients. It is an amazing time saver and extremely fast and accurate. It is called Google Alerts.
How does it work? Simple, go to Google's home page and select "more". Then select "even more." You should end up at a page that looks something like the picture at right.>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Click on the Alerts link and you'll go to a page to set up a log-in so you can administer your searches. After you're set up, you're taken to a simple spreadsheet style page where you list the words...or company names...that you'd like to follow. You can receive continual alerts or you can, like me, get one email a day with links to all references to your search term.
I would suggest you enter in your company's name and watch what happens over the next couple of days. You may be surprised how often it appears.
It also is smart to track any significant business partners you're doing business with. In one simple email, you can easily stay on top of all news about your partners. GIVE IT A TRY!!
